NEWS RELEASE: 1 February 2016
Award Winners to Share Business Excellence Lessons
Following on from the successful launch of their e-book in October last year, Business Kapiti Horowhenua has announced it has organised an information evening where local business owners will be able to learn from a panel of award winning business people.
On 17 February Business Kapiti Horowhenua (BKH), in partnership with the Kapiti Chamber of Commerce, is hosting a special event where four highly successful local businesses will share their tips for creating business excellence.
Former Award winners Andy Prow (RedShield, formerly Aura Information Security and Aura Redeye), Vince and Tricia Indo (Mitre 10 MEGA Kapiti), Dorien Van Den Berg (Jomp Hair Design), and Craig Pope (Craig Pope Mortgages and Insurance) will each share some of the “gems” that they attribute to making significant differences in their business.
Business Kapiti Horowhenua Chair Mark Ternent says the upcoming TA5 event is another example of how the Electra Business Awards can contribute to the growth and development of business throughout the region. “Through the Awards process we’re exposed to a large number of fantastic local businesses. So we thought it would be great to tap into this amazing resource and help them share their stories and valuable experience and lessons with other businesses that are also looking to grow.”
This latest event continues the journey of the Electra Kapiti Horowhenua Business Awards from being an annual awards event to becoming a champion for local business excellence. “Over the years we’ve invested a lot of time and effort into building the Business Awards and the value they add to entrants,” explains Mr Ternent. “Now we want to further leverage this investment in ways that create even greater benefits for entrants, other business and, as a result, the wider community.”
“We’ve started sharing local success stories through resources such as the e-book we launched in October last year. We’re creating networking opportunities where successful business people can exchange ideas, such as the inaugural “Winners and Finalists” evening we held in October last year. And the Kapiti Chamber TA5 event on 17 February is simply a continuation of this vision.”
The panellists have been asked to think about the “gems” they wish to share, and the event will be run in an informal interview style. Attendees will also be able to ask questions on the night.
The event is being held at the Kapiti Sports Pavilion on Wednesday, 17 February from 5.30pm. It is open to anyone to attend, with tickets costing $20 for Chamber members and $30 for non-members. However, places will be limited.
