Kapiti’s upcoming international music festival Coastella is a step forward in achieving long term economic development for the region and the wider business community.

Approved by the council in 2014, The Economic Development Strategy provides a roadmap for council, business and the community to continue to foster a thriving economy in the district.

Liz Koh, Kapiti Chamber of Commerce Chair says events such as Coastella are a key part of the strategy, and need the support of the local business community.

“Coastella is a great example of the type of event we wish to attract to Kapiti and get behind – one that has wide appeal and will bring people into our region from far and wide. This will provide a boost to the accommodation sector, retail and food sector.”

Supporting local events, like Coastella will also significantly grow the ‘Kapiti’ brand, as a place to spend time and do business. This will further accelerate economic growth and strengthen the local business community.

So what can you do to support this event?

Make sure you come along this easter weekend, have some fun with friends and family, and take some snaps to show your support for our growing region!
