Laurel McLay 2

Women in Business hosted a successful lunch with Laurel McLay on Wed 28 Oct at Southward Car Museum.  She talked about lead generation and the importance of being thorough, disciplined and relevant in your approach.  She also stressed the importance of connecting and caring about your leads.

During the session Laurel shared how to determine our own uniqueness (or X factor), the market we serve, how to share your value with that market, and how to get yourself out of the way in owning your value!  She talked about the power of support and positioning as there are a variety of lead generation strategies that can be adopted, depending on your own personal preferences and those of your market.  The emphasis is on not doing it hard, and saving you time.

Laurel believes no one is going to have the conviction of your product or service when sharing your message, than you, the business owner.  It really is the best strategy to rely on no one else but yourself when promoting what you do.  But the good news is, it’s no longer about cold calling and feeling the cringe about being shameless.

Laurel is an accredited thought leader’s mentor, author of ‘Lead Generation – 21st Century strategies to ignite your success’ and an Evolved Leadership Coach.  She is also a regular on the Paul Henry Show.  Her obsession is showing others how to live purposefully and lucratively, as an employee, expert, entrepreneur or enabler - www.laurelmclay.co.nz
