Women in Business Morning Tea: Let’s Take a Strategic Approach

Date: Wednesday 30 October
Facilitators: Lisa Addy & Cathy Sheppard | BSI People Skills
Time: 10am to 12pm
Venue: Kapiti Sports Turf & Pavilion
Members $25 – Non Members $35

In October 2018, Women in Business ran a Focus for 2019 Workshop. That session was about helping those attending to realise that predicting the future of your business doesn’t have to be a stab in the dark. The facilitators, Julene Hope and Heather Hutchings, got everyone thinking and talking about where they wanted to take their business in 2019, and identifying the steps to working smarter rather than harder.

We trust you left that session more focused because, NOW, we want to build on that. BSI People Skills will facilitate this session that will determine what we mean when we say, “let’s be more strategic in our approach” and “how do we go about doing that”, for the benefit of your business.

Back in June, Women in Business celebrated 10 years of providing a voice and promotional platform for Woman in Business on the Kāpiti Coast. We want to use the upcoming two-hour morning tea session to keep building the resilience in our network and getting to grips with the importance of planning and prioritising the need to work ‘on’ your business, and not constantly being ‘in’ it.

Women in Business believes that in order to really perform, every business requires you to spend some time working ‘on’ your business. This session will be interactive, and you will be supported by your peers as we work together creating a platform to take your business forward with a strategic approach.

Some takeaways from the session will include:

  1. Reflecting and celebrating the achievements of the past year, however small.
  2. Rediscovering, reflecting on, or creating the story of your business.
  3. Identifying ‘your strategic why’ and working out what’s next for you.
  4. How to plan and prioritise your workload, working through a method that works for others.
  5. Understanding what we mean by taking a strategic approach and feeling good about building a plan and following it through.

Bookings essential by Thurs 24 Oct for catering purposes.
